This morning, the wind is rushing through the trees, then sun is not fierce so I think it's a good Morning to go exploring. Exploring in our Pili Nut Farms.
Rose is already ahead of me. She is talking to a couple of our lady workers. These ladies are awesome. What ever they touch will grow. What amazed me today is that they decided to wear shoes.
Note: why the large brimmed hats and the long sleeves. It's not because it is cold. It is to keep the sun off of their bodies, their head and their neck. Oh, and Rose has an umbrella (the word 'Umbra' means 'shade'. 'Ella' means 'of the' or 'from the'. Therefore, 'umbrella' means 'from the shade').
Eventually, I make it to the lower portion of the Pili Nut Farm. As you can see, it is very dry because the creek is full of dry leaves. Knowing that it is going to be dry this time of the year, we use 2 methods to ensure the Pili Nut Trees survive the stress:
1. We water the trees from our well
2. We use organic root enhancer as well as something to make the water more easily absorbed by the root system.
Results - stronger, healthier trees all year round.
Rose and her family have taught me that we will not go hungry when we grow plants that enjoy being together. Obviously, Pili Nuts, Bananas, and Papaya love growing together.
Thirst is setting in and in my excitement to explore, I forgot to bring water or a knife (to cut open a coconut). Oops!
Fortunately, Rose should be just ahead and behind a few more trees. I think I can navigate my way to her.
Oops, maybe not! But I did find our coffee field. Freshly grown organic coffee from Pili Nut Farms is delicious. Unfortunately, we only grow enough for the family.
Ok, there she is. Still talking with our friends and helpers... Life is Good. We have plenty of food, plenty of friends and a good life... living on Pili Nut Farms.
