Why not a Moka instead of a Plastic Pod Commodity Coffee?

Hi and thank you for your question, “Why don’t more people use a Moka Coffee maker rather than coffee capsules (given that moka coffee is much cheaper thank plastic pod cups of coffee)?” I can’t be for certain, but personally think this is for 2 reasons:
- It’s a quick way to produce a cup of something that passes off as coffee,
- It has been popularized by the Big Name marketing executives.

Before I moved to a tropical island - where we now grow our own coffee - as well as  premium coffee for Going Native Coffee - I noticed that many people living in the USA want convenience over quality. I guess it has something to do with being in a state of constant rush, not having enough time in a 24 hour day, and it takes more time (maybe an extra 4 minutes Tops to make a quality Moka).

I mean, to make a K-cup for a Keurig Coffee Machine, all one has to do is add water, add the cup, push a button and walk away. It's convenient.

To make a quality Moka, the coffee lover must add the water, add the coffee grounds, put the Moka coffee pot on the stove, and watch it for 3 minutes ( so they can remove it from the stove when it is done brewing ). I’m not sure, but maybe for some people, watching a Moka coffee pot for 3 minutes is too challenging. Personally, 3 minutes is well worth it to me to have a good cup of coffee - Life is to short for a bad cup of coffee.

(Maybe in the future, some group will do a study that will find that a cup of plastic pod commodity coffee is just as bad for ones health as microwave popcorn).

The other reason could be the marketing of Keurig. They have done a nice job designing their equipment. It looks nice. It’s a quality design… But, as we already know, it is more expensive than a Moka coffee pot, and the coffee refills are much more expensive.
Personally, I think the coffee in the pre-packaged plastic cups is a sub-par coffee compared to the coffees we drink at home.

Additionally,
the plastic coffee pods are not good for the environment.

I hope you will find my thoughts beneficial and give you a better understanding of why some people might choose to make a cup of plastic pod, commodity coffee over a quality exotic specialty coffee in a traditional Moka coffee pot.

Do I Regret Becoming an Expat? & What is an Expat?

10/11/2018

Hi, I want to answer another question today.

Thanks for asking this question, “Do I regret becoming an Expat?” I am not sure if people really know,“What is an Expat” or“What is an Expat?”

An Expat is someone who changes their residency to another country - It does not mean changing citizenship. It does not mean they lose their passport. It only means that they currently reside - live - in a different country.

So do I regret being an expat? Let me answer it this way…
I love to travel. I love to experience and immerse myself in new and different cultures. I get to learn different points of view and get a different perspective on life and the world. I get to enjoy new food and beverages. I get to build new relationships and be an unofficial ambassador to the World. If you are curious about my journey into the Expat Life, then you can visit my blog:
http://www.LikeWinningTheLottery.com or read my international Best Selling book on my experiences (that can be found on my Blog page).

Do I regret doing any of the things I listed above? Not at all. I am a resident of this wonderful Planet. I think I am gaining some valuable insights into life, people and myself. Being an Expat is Like Winning the Lottery.

I hope this helps you in your decisions to travel and explore.
