Can you Send me a Postcard from your Island? Please?

The other day we received a request to send a post card from our island in the Philippines to a 7 year old little girl's class in Delaware, Ohio. This is a simple request, right? Since I was in Osaka, Japan, I called Rose and asked her to find a post card and send it to this little girl's class in the USA. Rose happily agreed because she had met the adorable little girl a few years ago, and she knew this would be for a good cause - the class's geography lesson. (The girl making the request is Emmy... I call her M.E. - her mother doesn't like when I spell it that way).

Rose easily found a postcard at our friend's resort. She messaged me, 'I have the postcard, but do you know if we even have a Post Office on this island?'

Hmmm, maybe this is why I am not getting junk mail... or any mail delivered to ur house. We have been living on this island for several years, and we have no idea if we have a Post Office.

On the way to Shanghai I find a cute post card with a cartoon character beside a 787 jet. I pay for the post card, put it in my bag... and forget about it for a few days until I arrive home.

Rose picks me up from the airport, 'Welcome home Honey ko! I found the Post Office. Shall we send the cards?' I agree, and Rose puts the truck in drive and away we go along the coastal road.

Enjoying the view of the outrigger boats in bay, I never realized that 10 minutes had passed. 'Here we are Honey ko. I hope someone is still working today. I learned their hours are very relaxed.'

As we get out of the car and she leads me toward the beach, I wonder if she is just wanting to enjoy a romantic moment on the beach. But then she stops and points, 'Here we are!'

I smile as I read the sign. 'Island Post Office'. Of course it is. How could I expect anything different.

We get the proper postage and send off M.E.'s cards. Then I wonder if the Post Master is going to send them by ship, by plane or as a message in a bottle.
